Stepping it up!
So I've been using the .25 version for a little over 1 year and I was nearing the end of my supply. I read the reviews for the .50 strength and decided to give it a try. I'm glad to switched to the higher strength! I've notice a big difference in the texture and appearance of my skin. As a user of Retin-A for the last 30+ years I decided to try this on a whim because I was tired of dealing with super flaky skin all the time. This stuff is magic, I can apply this almost every night and wake up with clear skin and no flakes. I will eventually move up to the 1.0 version but I am still seeing results with the 0.5. I’m never going back to prescription Retin-A.

This is good for Retinol starters. But if you're trying to use it for moderate acne, you need something stronger like the 1%. Hoewever, their 1% created a map on my face a while back.

Comparable to prescription strength products
I've used a prescription tretinoin for 15 years, but due to the pandemic, I haven't been able to visit my doctor's office for a prescription renewal. I love this brand and decided to give their retinol a try. Wow! This is a fantastic alternative to my Rx. It's non-irritating and seems to be doing a comparable job. I will continue purchasing it and plan to increase the strength once this bottle runs out. The price of my Rx has skyrocketed in recent years and is no longer covered by insurance, so I'll likely continue using this for the long term.

I have been using Skin Medica Retinol complex serum 0.5% for years. It is a wonderful non iritating Retinol serum. Use it nightly or at least 3 times weekly. I'm a huge fan of Retinol and the prescription Retinols are too iritating for my skin. this is perfect!

Way too strong
My skin was able to tolerate the .25 really well. I ordered the .5 and experienced the worst reaction to retinol. My face immediately turned red, which I sort of expected. But then it got super dry by the next morning and anything I would apply to it face wash serum or moisturizer would burn and cause my skin to turn red. I would only use this strength if you don't have sensitive skin.

I’ve only been using for a few weeks and it is definitely stronger than my last retinol. I find my face gets a little reactive and red if I overuse and don’t hydrate enough after.

Gentle Retinol
Retinol seems to be on every list of must use items to prevent aging. I've found that to be true and this one is gentle. I've never experienced dryness, redness or irritation. I use every other night.
