I use this product nightly and have started to see the results! As a black woman, I suffer from hyperpigmentation and uneven texture and I attribute this product and a SkinMedica cleanser to why my hyperpigmentation is now eroding and the texture of my skin is smoother. When using this product, I recommend having a good moisturizer, preferably with SPF, to combat the dryness and also protect the delicacy of your skin when using this product.

Amazing Retinol
This has become my new go-to retinol! I use on my face, décolletage, and hands. I’ve always been sensitive to retinol (redness & flaking), and my face/neck still has sensitivity to this, but I combine it with a mild plasma cream and now get results without the drawbacks. I also alternate nights with SkinCeuticals vit C & ferulic with no irritation. This also works well to improve the color, softness, and lines on my hands too

Mild retinol
I just started using this but I was terrified of retinol. This seems to be mild enough and only caused mild irritation to my skin. It goes on smooth and seemed to smooth my wrinkles. I like it so far.

I've used SkinMedica for years but had never tried the Retinol Complex .5. I followed the instructions by using twice a week and increasing as my skin tolerated. It does cause flaking but I use a moisturizing facemask when this is visible and it keeps the flaking under control. This product has made a big difference in the redness and blotchy spots. It will last a long time because you use so little so infrequent. I highly recommend.

My personal preference
I can’t seem to go wrong with SkinMedica’s retinol products. I’ve worked my way my up from .25. After trying other products ranging from modest to quite costly I always return to SM.
