I have been using this product for 5 years... the first 2 years I used the .025 strength and have increased to 0.5. It has helped to diminish facial lines. I have sensitive skin but this product does not redden my skin or cause my skin to feel irritated. I’m very satisfied with the SkinMedica line of products.

Gentle enough to use overnight
I usually get the retinol couples 1.0 but found I could only use 1 time a week. With the lower dose I use a few times a week. Mainly to lessen the appears of my enlarged pours above my lip area. My skin care go to is SkinMedica. I found that their product gives me the best results

I love Skinmedica products. I had used the .25 retinol and decided to try the .50 retinol. It absorbs well and does not feel greasy. I have sensitive, acne prone skin. About two days after application my face began peeling. I know that is what it's meant to do. It last a few days. So for now I am only using g this retinol once a week. Maybe I will eventually work my way up to the recommend usage.

Too Strong for Sensitive Skin
I normally order the SkinMedica Retinol Comples in the 0.25 strength - which has never caused any problems for my very sensitive skin. I decided to move up to the 0.5 strength and quickly discovered that it caused burning and peeling and itching. After my skin recuperates I'll reorder it in the 0.25 strength. The lesson learned for those of us with sensitive skin is to figure out what your maximum strength is and then stay there.

Retinol by skin medica is effective.
I use the retinol 0.5 every other evening. I'm 73 and find my skin does not tolerate nightly application as well as I age. I do combine retinol with a little night cream from a different brand. After well absorbed I apply a moisturizer. I feel my skin is healthy and well maintained.

No product consistency
I’ve purchased 2 bottles. The product in the first bottle was a tan color. It did nothing. I had no skin peeling. No skin improvement. The product in the most recent second bottle was very white & my skin peeled quite a bit. I can only guess that the first bottle was defective. Upsetting since I spent so much money on it. I’m still using the second bottle. Hoping for some improvement in brown spots, but no difference yet. So, overall, I’m not sure what to think or if I’d risk ordering again.

Skin Medica has the best face products. I use this retinol in combination with the tns recovery complex and the dermal repair cream. I have been using this line of products for over 15 years. I try to switch in order to save money and I immediately notice the difference and return to this product line.
