OTC retinols are generally less potent than prescription strength, but this product is STRONG. When I use the highest strength prescription retinol, I don’t get any flaking or dryness. But this product definitely makes my skin flaky, which is a sign that it’s working and turning over my cells the way it’s supposed to. If you don’t want or can’t get a prescription, this is a great product. But start with the lower doses and work your way up. This product will leave your skin glowing, smooth, and youthful!

Serious Retinol!
I thought I’d take advantage of one of LovelySkin’s many amazing sales and get the 1.0 retinol instead of the 0.5. What a difference! Wow. I had to skip to every third night so my skin could adjust, but my goodness — I think this stuff rewound my face back a few years.

Switched and saw a difference in a week
I've been using another retinol for years and stopped getting results for minor skin discoloration. After a week and a half of this, my skin is noticably smoother, tighter and there's no discoloration under my eyes. Yes it's very strong and I've had to go to using it only 3x a week, but that tells me it's working. I'm 55 and highly recommend this for post menopausal skin!

This is a great strong retinol. I like the lotion consistency as well. You can't skip applying moisturizer after it, especially in the winter, or it will dry you out.

Graduated from the .05 to this. Good product, but not a miracle worker. Have been using consistently and hard to say I’ve had any dramatic changes in fine lines, brightening, yet I trust it’s doing it job. Huge plus that it doesn’t make be breakout. Will continue to use. Be careful when applying other products even when at different times of the day - I use 15% azelaic acid in the morning and I battled through severe flakey/dry skin. I think I’m past that point now, but it took some time for my skin to get used to both products even though I apply one in the AM and one in the PM.
