I have tried dozens of SPFs and it's amazing to me how the overwhelming majority (99.9%) are terrible. They either pill, leave a white-cast, are too makeup-y, or irritating to the skin. I was very skeptical of this sunscreen because I've had bad experiences with other versions of this sunscreen in the past (despite the positive reviews), but this particular version works for me. Number 1, this does not pill when you apply it. That is such a deal breaker, because how am I going to leave the house with sunscreen flakes all over my face lookin all crazy, and it takes so much time to fix. Second, because this is tinted, it doesn't leave a white cast. But I don't want to look makeup-y. This tint could be more sheer. When I look in the mirror after it dries down, I don't think I look like I'm wearing makeup. But when I take a photo or go on zoom, yeah it looks kinda makeup-y. This is not great for guys, but it's more natural than geisha white. Please EltaMD make this more sheer! This does not irritate my skin, in fact it's actively calming which is a HUGE plus. All in all, there could be minor improvements to this sunscreen but it's THE best I've found.

EltaMD Clear Tinted Sunscreen is the only sunscreen I can use that does not break me out and it also protects my skin from burning. I’ve used it or several years and will continue to use. I use it year round. I now don’t put makeup since I love how it makes my skin look!

Best Sunscreen!
I’m so happy I tried this sunscreen. I have sensitive, acne prone skin and every other sunscreen I’ve used has caused breakouts. Elta MD doesn’t leave my skin shiny or greasy feeling. It does seem to leave a slight white cast, but nothing drastic. I’ll be buying more.

Good sunblock, but too greasy for my skin
I'd been using EltaMD UV Shield Broad-Spectrum SPF 45 Oil-Free on my face and backs of hands for many years, recommended to me by the plastic surgeon who removed a very large pre-cancerous legion from the back of my hand. I'm in my 70's and have somewhat dry but sensitive skin and found it worked great for both applications, even on top of hyaluronic acid as well as moisturizer prior to application. It's recently been discontinued so tried EltaMD's untinted UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 Sunscreen instead. It may well be just me, but I found it to feel oily/greasy upon application and found the smell annoying, though others might not be troubled by it. The smell disappears over time but I found it to be off-putting. I'm moving on to trying other of EltaMD's sunscreens because I believe highly in the brand - this one just this one wasn't the right one for me.

Clean feel
I really like this sunscreen. It’s easy to apply it takes about two or three pumps To cover my entire face and it spreads well on skin. There is no unpleasant smell to it and it disappears easily as you smooth over facial skin. The coverage is very good and without greasy feel or heaviness. and I have had no adverse reactions.

Only Use EltaMD Products!
My dermatologist recommended EltaMD products to me a number of years ago to help with sun damage from youth. Ah youth! I get 6 month skin checkups and have been so pleased—and my Dr has been so pleased—with how much better my skin has become. I use most all EltaMD sun care products. I use the UV Sport SPF 50 most everyday as I live in AZ and am out various times during each day. The sun is pretty strong! I will then put the tinted SPF 46 over that to give a hint of color versus the whiteness of the SPF 50. All their products go on smoothly—no clogging—no dryness. My skin texture has become smoother and has a very nice “richness” to it! I’m 72 and people will comment on my skin.

My Favorite. Great Product.
This Elta MD sunscreen is my favorite. I wear it daily with and without makeup. I don't have any problems with wearing it under my foundation. My foundation goes on exactly the same as it would without the sunscreen. I moisturize first, let it soak in a bit. Then, put on my sunscreen. I let that soak in a bit before I start my makeup routine. The clear happens to be my favorite, but, many people prefer the tinted. I have found the tinted shows in my fine lines and creases very slightly and that is what I'm trying to conceal. Great product.
